Technical Installation

The LUNA-400 accelerator facility is installed in one of the side tunnels of the underground laboratories of LNGS. It consists in an accelerator room (4x10m2), a control room (4x5m2) and a lab space for off line tests and measurements.

Most import technical systems available are:

400 kV Accelerator by High Voltage Engineering

Gas Target System, homemade, pumps by Leybold Vacuum and vacuum measurements by Pfeiffer Vacuum

Beam Calorimeter System, homemade, control and DAQ by National Instruments

Solid State Target System, Vacuum chambers engineering and construction by Rial Vacuum, oilfree pumps by Adixen Vacuum Technology, Faraday cups by PET-SCS

Low level Germanium Detector, Detectors by Canberra and ORTEC, low radioactivity shielding material by JL Goslar, electronics and DAQ by Ametek Ortec

BGO Summing Detector,Detector by Scionix and DAQ by CAEN
